The Royal Aero Club was originally founded by His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein after discovering the thrill of flying and seeing the beauty of his Kingdom from the air.

His Royal Highness Prince Hamzah Bin Al Hussein is the president of the club and a qualified skydiver himself.

The Royal Aero Sports Club of Jordan is a non-profit organization, established with Royal support in 1997, with the vision of providing a wide variety of aero sports in one of the most beautiful locations in the world. In 2001, the Club moved to the King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba under a different name in order to embrace all aero sports activities.

The Club is registered member of Higher Council of Youth and ASEZA as a cultural, social sports club. The Club was ratified as a member of the Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI), the official world air sports federation, in 2005.
